Vi 3v3 Arena Rulebook

Event overview

Vi 3v3 Arena is a competitive three-versus-three tournament organized by GridLock-Games Studio Staff and governed by the rules in this document. By registering, all teams, players, captains, and coaches agree to follow these rules, the event schedule, and all official instructions issued by official GLG staff and tournament administrators.

Tournament administrators reserve the right to interpret, amend, or enforce these rules as needed to protect competitive integrity, safety, fairness, and the smooth operation of the event. Any situation not explicitly covered in this rulebook will be resolved at the sole discretion of the tournament administrators.

Team eligibility

  • Each team must consist of three starting players. Event organizers may allow one substitute if this is announced before the event.

  • All players must be registered under the team roster submitted before the roster lock deadline.

  • All players must already have an existing game account and an existing in-game character before the event begins.

  • All players are expected to have played the game prior to the event date and must be at least level 20.

  • Any player using a character below level 20 will have that entry forfeited and may be disqualified from participation for that match or the full event, depending on administrator review.

  • Players may only represent one team for the duration of the event.

  • Teams must use their approved team name in all official event channels, check-in, and broadcasts.

Captain responsibilities

  • Each team must designate one captain as the primary point of contact.

  • Team captains must be present at least 1 hour prior to the official event start time to confirm the team's attendance, receive final instructions, and remain reachable by tournament staff.

  • Failure of the team captain to check in on time may result in penalties including delayed seeding, loss of side or lobby privileges, match forfeiture, or removal from the tournament.

  • Captains are responsible for confirming roster accuracy, reporting match results when requested, and ensuring that all team members are ready on schedule.

Player requirements

  • Players must use only their own registered accounts unless the organizers explicitly approve otherwise.

  • Players must maintain respectful conduct toward opponents, officials, casters, staff, sponsors, and viewers.

  • Players are responsible for ensuring that their device, internet connection, peripherals, and game client are functional and updated before their scheduled matches.

  • Players must comply immediately with all reasonable instructions from official GLG staff and tournament officials.

  • Players are expected to coordinate any clarifications, concerns, or disputes only with official GLG staff to avoid misinformation from unofficial sources.

Check-in and attendance

  • Official check-in times, match call times, and bracket release times will be communicated by the organizers before the event.

  • Teams that fail to complete check-in by the stated deadline may be marked absent and may lose their tournament slot.

  • A team that is not ready to join the match lobby within the time directed by administrators may receive a warning, game loss, or match forfeiture.

  • Repeated delays may lead to disqualification.

Tournament format

  • The tournament will use a format announced by the organizers before the event, such as single elimination, double elimination, round robin, or a hybrid format.

  • Match format, including best-of-one, best-of-three, or best-of-five, will be announced together with the bracket or event schedule.

  • Seeding may be randomized or based on organizer criteria, including prior results, qualification standings, or check-in completion.

  • The organizer's published bracket and schedule are final unless updated for operational reasons.

Match procedures

  • Teams must join the correct lobby, room, or server as instructed by tournament staff.

  • Only rostered players, approved substitutes, and authorized event staff may participate in official matches.

  • Match start may proceed once both teams are confirmed ready or when the administrator gives the signal to begin.

  • If a team cannot field the required number of eligible players at match time, that team may forfeit the map or match.

  • Results become official once confirmed by tournament staff or entered into the official tournament system.

Competitive integrity

  • Any form of cheating is strictly prohibited. This includes hacks, scripts, exploits, unauthorized third-party tools, account sharing, match manipulation, ghosting, stream sniping, and any attempt to gain an unfair advantage.

  • Unsportsmanlike behavior is prohibited. This includes harassment, hate speech, threats, abusive language, intentional disruption, and refusal to follow official rulings.

  • Collusion, intentional losing, or any agreement to alter competitive results is prohibited.

  • Tournament administrators may investigate any suspected violation and may request screenshots, video, match history, device checks, or additional evidence.

Pauses, disconnects, and technical issues

  • Teams must report technical problems immediately to tournament staff.

  • Administrators may allow a short pause or delay for verified technical issues when practical.

  • If a disconnect occurs, the ruling may include remaking the game, continuing from the current result if supported by the platform, awarding a game loss, or ordering a forfeit, depending on timing, cause, and available evidence.

  • Routine lag, unstable internet, device battery issues, or local hardware problems may not be grounds for a remake unless the administrators decide otherwise.

  • Organizer systems, venue power, platform outages, or widespread service disruption may result in schedule adjustments or format changes.

Substitutions and roster changes

  • No roster changes are allowed after roster lock unless the tournament organizers explicitly approve an exception.

  • Any approved substitute must independently meet all event eligibility requirements, including account, character, and level requirements.

  • A substitute may not join a team mid-event if doing so compromises fairness, seeding, or prior match results.

Streaming, media, and naming

  • Organizers reserve the right to stream, record, photograph, restream, clip, publish, and promote all event matches, player names, team names, logos, and likenesses for tournament coverage and marketing.

  • Players may stream their own point of view only if the organizers allow it and only under any delay, branding, or sponsor restrictions set by the event.

  • Team names, player names, avatars, and logos must not contain offensive, infringing, or inappropriate content.

Penalties and enforcement

Penalties may be issued for any rule violation, including but not limited to:

  • Verbal or written warning.

  • Loss of side, seed, draft, or lobby privileges.

  • Game loss.

  • Match forfeiture.

  • Prize reduction or removal.

  • Suspension or ban from current or future events.

Tournament administrators may escalate penalties based on severity, repetition, intent, or failure to cooperate. Attempts to deceive officials or hide evidence may result in immediate disqualification.

Protests and rulings

  • Any protest must be submitted by the team captain within the deadline stated by official GLG staff, usually immediately after the relevant game or match.

  • Protests must include clear details and any available supporting evidence.

  • Rulings made by the head administrator or tournament operations lead are final.

  • Public arguments or harassment regarding rulings may themselves be penalized.

Prize policy

  • Prize amounts, splits, and eligibility conditions will be announced by the organizers separately unless already included in the event announcement.

  • Prizes are disbursed within 15 to 20 business days after the event and will be sent digitally through an approved e-wallet or digital banking method.

  • Winners are responsible for providing accurate payout details within the requested deadline.

  • Organizers may withhold, delay, or cancel prize payouts if a team or player is under investigation for rule violations, fails verification, or submits incorrect payout information.

  • Any taxes, transfer fees, or compliance requirements associated with prize distribution are the responsibility of the recipient unless local law or organizer policy states otherwise.

Organizer rights

  • Organizers may revise the schedule, format, match order, broadcast plan, or administrative process when necessary due to operational, technical, safety, or competitive integrity concerns.

  • Organizers may remove any participant or team that jeopardizes the event, other participants, or the reputation of the tournament.

  • Final interpretation of all rules belongs to the tournament administrators.
